Billy Glennon is the Founder and CEO of VISION Consulting. Billy has had a career in management, consulting, and leadership development for over 40 years, and he takes pride in forming companies that have a mission and bring a sense of mission to clients.
Seeing in the 1980s that most IT came in late and underperformed expectations, He founded his own technology consultancy company in to overcome that trend. He brought that mission to VISION Consulting with which he merged in 1988 and became VISION’s CEO in 1989.
With the improved IT project performance Billy pioneered, VISION Consulting grew to an international IT consultancy with offices in Dublin, Edinburgh, and New York. His flagship clients were the Deutsche Bank, ANB AMRO, Bank of Ireland, the Warner Music Group, Intelligent Finance, NOVA (a division of US Bank), and Digicel.
Billy saw that the capstone of his success with IT projects required changing the way people worked more generally. So, he transformed his IT consultancy company into a management consultancy company specializing in Commitment-based Management™, where people made and worked to co-designed promises rather than completing tasks.
Since then, Billy has developed VISION’s mission to bring its clients extraordinarily high levels of collaboration, trust, coordination, decentralised decision -making, speed, and morale. That turns into superb operating achievements in productivity, customer service, revenue, and profitability. VISION takes pride in the record times in which it helped Ireland’s HSE set up contact centers, vaccine delivery, and physician relations during COVID. VISION has come to specialize as well in large capital projects where it typically seeks to help projects get to site in half the time and get off site in 80% of the time with cost savings all around. VISION works with all levels of organizations from field teams to senior management. It’s about raising accountability and trust from top to bottom.
VISION’s recent clients are Scottish Water, Severn Trent Water, MWH, AXA Insurance, Cadent Gas, UKPN, Ecoplex Energy, Land Development Authority Ireland and the Health Service Executive Ireland (HSE).
Billy is also an advocate of international aid and development, and he views this involvement as an intrinsic part of his work. He is Chair of Mustard Seeds Ireland, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to caring for the most vulnerable members of society, especially disabled and abandoned children in Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe, and Malawi. Through Billy, VISION has supported Mustard Seeds for over 15 years, financing placements of key staff and professionals at the point of greatest impact and importance.
